This weekend the kids and I went to visit Grandma and Grandpa in the cities with Auntie Hilly. It will likely be the last time we make the trip with just the two kids! It's always nice to hang around Grandma's and not have many plans ... on Saturday we heard about a community event in Hopkins at the Fire Department. When we got there we were surprised to see that the firefighters were giving rides on fire trucks ... and most impressively they were giving "rides" in the ladder bucket on their new truck! They also had some inflatable slides, free food, a car fire to extinquish, and a spot where kids could practice handling the hose. Benny, again, was scared of most of it ... but he liked the sights anyway. Madeline had a blast!
The new Ladder Truck had a 95 foot ladder and they extended it halfway for the rides ... you can't see her but Madeline is way at the top!

Maddie is so brave, I don't know if I would have been brave enough to go that high in air.
