Camping At Temperance River

We spent this week camping at Lamb's Resort in Schroeder, MN (near the Temperance River). My Mom (Grammy 'Ola), Dad (Grampy Dan), Hillary, Madeline, Benjamin, and I spent four nights on the north shore.
The first picture is the view from our campsite. It was beautiful! Madeline made a pirate ship for her and Benny to play on ... that is her pirate ship flag waving in the background :)
Benny spent a large portion of the time blowing bubbles, or asking other people to blow bubbles. He was a good sport about camping for the most part ... only a couple of grumpy moments :)
In addition to hiking and swimming at the mouth of the Temperance River (an amazing swimming hole that I reccommend to everyone) we went swimming in the Baptism River and hiked around the riverbed for a while. The water temperature from Lake Superior is much colder than that of the rivers, and the mouth of the river was a wonderful place to swim.

We spent one day in Grand Marais, MN ... we had breakfast at "The World's Best Donuts" and did some shopping up and down the main streets.

One of the most fun parts of camping was seeing how my kids handled being dirty. Benny was dirty from head to toe and LOVED it! Madeline didn't take to it as well :)
Madeline and I spent some Mom 'n' Daughter time down on the rocks on the shore of our campsite looking for rocks and wading in the cool water :) Benny absolutely LOVED the time he got to spend with Grampy Dan!

One of our stops along the Baptism River hike had an overlook at the lake. There wasn't anyone else to take a picture but that was our crew, minus me :) Although the water at our campsite shore was really cold we did swim a little bit. Madeline was the best trooper with swimming ... she didn't seem to mind the cold at all!

She even swam out to a rocky island (about a 10 foot swim)! Benny really started to like the peeing outside business :)

We were all so sad to leave our campsite and are already looking forward to next year's trip! It is so beautiful to be camping on the North Shore and relaxing by the campfire.
